DBGB Kitchen and Bar, at 299 Bowery, opened in 2009 as the fifth restaurant in the Daniel Boulud Manhattan empire, and the first below 44th street. The mashup of French brasserie and American burger joint is headed up executive chef Jim Leiken. The interiors take their cue from the Bowery as New York's industrial supply neighborhood, stocked with celebrity chef's donated tools.
