Radio station KMPC was purchased by Detroit businessman George A. (Dick) Richards. Richards brought into his corporation, as stockholders, Bing Crosby, Paul Whiteman, “Amos & Andy” (Freeman Gosden & Charles Corell) and producer and silent film comedian Harold Lloyd. They renamed the station “KMPC the Station of the Stars.”
